To the Entrepreneur Who Feels Behind

Dear Entrepreneur, I know what it feels like to look around and wonder if you’re behind. Someone else seems to be growing faster. Someone else has built the business you wish you had. Someone else seems more confident, more experienced, or further ahead. And you start wondering whether you missed your opportunity. You haven’t. Your journey was never supposed to look exactly like someone else’s. I’ve learned to think about business the same way I think about life. As a puzzle. Every problem gives you another piece. Every mistake teaches you something. Every difficult customer, failed idea, unexpected obstacle, and uncomfortable decision can become part of your understanding. That doesn’t mean every decision will work. It doesn’t mean every business will succeed. But it does mean that failure doesn’t have to be wasted. Ask better questions. What did this teach me? What am I missing? What can I do differently? Who do I need to become to solve this problem? Those questions have taken me much further than pretending I already had all the answers. Business, to me, isn’t only about building something successful. It’s about solving problems. Creating opportunities. Helping people. Building something that matters. So don’t measure your beginning against someone else’s middle. Keep learning. Keep asking questions. Keep building. You may not see the whole picture yet. That’s okay. You only need to find the next piece. Keep going. Kezia

To the Mother Who Thinks She’s Failing

Dear Mother, There will be days when you wonder if you’re doing enough. Enough for your children. Enough for your family. Enough for yourself. There will be moments when you lose your patience, question your decisions, or wonder whether you are giving your children the kind of mother they deserve. I hope you remember this: You don’t have to be a perfect mother. You simply have to keep showing up. Motherhood has taught me that success isn’t always measured by achievements, titles, or accomplishments. Sometimes success looks like being there. Listening. Apologizing when you are wrong. Trying again tomorrow. Holding your child’s hand when they are afraid. Celebrating the little things. Teaching them to be curious. Teaching them that mistakes don’t make them failures. My children have changed the way I think about success. They remind me that what we build isn’t only about what we accomplish for ourselves. It is also about what we leave behind in the people we love. I want my children to remember that their mother kept learning. That she stayed curious. That she wasn’t afraid to admit when she was wrong. That she chose growth over pride. And most importantly, that she loved them enough to keep showing up. So if today you feel like you’re failing, take a breath. Look at how far you’ve already come. You are learning too. And maybe that is one of the most important things you can teach your children: That none of us has to have everything figured out. We simply keep learning. We keep growing. We keep finding the next piece. With love, Kezia

To the Woman Who Is Starting Over

Dear Woman Who Is Starting Over, I know starting over can feel like failure. It can feel like everyone else is moving forward while you are standing somewhere in the middle of a life you never expected to have. Maybe something ended. Maybe a dream changed. Maybe the life you worked so hard to build no longer looks the way you imagined. And now you’re wondering what comes next. I want you to know that starting over does not mean you are starting from nothing. You are carrying everything you’ve already learned. Every difficult conversation. Every mistake. Every loss. Every courageous decision. Every time you kept going when you wanted to stop. Those things are pieces too. For a long time, I thought I needed to understand the entire picture before I could move forward. I’ve learned that life rarely works that way. Sometimes you only see the next piece. So take that piece. Take the next step. You don’t have to know exactly where it will lead. You don’t have to become a completely different person overnight. You simply have to be willing to believe that your story is not finished. There are chapters you haven’t written yet. There are people you haven’t met. There are opportunities you haven’t discovered. And there are pieces of yourself you haven’t found yet. Starting over may not be the ending you wanted. But it can still become part of a beautiful picture. So be patient with yourself. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep searching. Your next piece is waiting. With hope, Kezia
